Kotaku: Week In Games
black%2Bhole%2Bposter.jpg Fortunately, the last few months have given us a glut of awesome titles to play over the holiday break. I say fortunately because to say that this week's list is anemic would be a huge understatement. A few titles are trickling in, but considering the season and the fact that Christmas Day lands in the middle of the week this is hardly surprising. So to the game industry I say, take a break and get ready to knock our socks off in the new year. We're looking at YOU Super Smash Brothers Brawl!

Jeopardy! Deluxe (Macintosh)
It's like having Alex Tribec in your living room.

Wheel of Fortune Deluxe (Macintosh)
Bring Vanna home for the holidays!

Well, that's it. Sorry to disappoint you... unless of course you are a Mac owner and really into game shows. In which case, I'm still sorry.

  • 51801piTYKL._AA280_.jpgI don't know about you, but not owning a PC, I can't wait to crack open UT3 on my PS3. While Motostorm was decent, it has more potential than any PS3 title before to cement its networked play. Here's a rundown on what else is coming out this week.

golden_compass_twig.jpgFew Kotaku readers will gripe that this week contains too many must-buys. The only complaints that will come from this pre-holiday release week will come weeks from now, as one is faced with a surprise copy of Alvin & The Chipmunks stashed under the tree. Consider it a good week to catch up on November's releases.

I'm so behind on games right now after Tokyo that I really shouldn't be buying anything new, but I fear that the siren call of Phantom Hourglass will be too strong to resist. What's on your game purchasing horizon this week?

There's a little something for everyone this week from the gorgeous Eternal Sonata and the uber cute MySims to the gritty World In Conflict and action packed Stranglehold. As I will be spending the next two weeks abroad I won't be playing much of anything until I return but Eternal Sonata is definitely my pick for this week. Anything you'll be picking up?

    Eternal Sonata (X360)
Life inside the colorful dreams of a dying composer

    World in Conflict (PC)
Soviet Russia lives in this RTS

    Sonic Rush Adventure (DS)
    Sonic and Tails vs Pirates

    MySims (WII, DS)
The Sims get a cutesy-poo facelift

    Coded Arms: Contagion (PSP)
The next chapter in the PSPs first FPS

    Stranglehold (PS3, PC)
    John
