Posted: 08/Apl/06 at 3:59pmBefore I went travelling I banked with the Woolwich but I then opened up a Nationwide account as the woolwich DID charge abroad. Opening a FLEX Nationwide account was the best thing I could've done!! I defo recommend opening one!
When I arrive in Ibiza I will be opening a Spanish account. Please can you let me know what bank would be the best bank to bank with? I have just come back from OZ and there were a few banks that you could only withdraw at an ATM 5 times within a month without getting charged (ANZ). If I withdrew more than 5 time a month I was charged a fee (but you had the option to pay $5 a month so you could withdraw as many times as you like) Are the banks like that in Spain/Ibiza?

Beejezzus, if that's the way forward, I choose to run backward!

Anybody who gets one of those has to be crazy.... just open a Nationwide account and get all that for free! Use a VISA card from the UK and just pay the balance using your internet banking, open a spanish bank account and you will get a card with that! And there are a dozen more ways that are better than paying than that sort of money.
And the best bit it's American Expess which is often not accepted
I'll have a proper read up of these cards later, but so far I'm not sold... maybe I will find some info that makes it worth it but from an inital glance and from what you lot have told me I'm far from sold...

i reckon if you get all your money on it and use it wisely, it could be quite useful. i think its the way forward.
by the way i am not a salesman for AmEx or am i not recieving any money! haha

think i'll be getting one...just beats taking ur cheques and passport to the shop to get changed - less chance of losing/getting them nicked or whatever
