Simple Question
I have already filed a complaint with the BBB in Raleigh but I was just curious as to the legality of some practices that are undertaken by the Experian Company.  I am a minority owner in a small business and obviously we are not so lucrative at this point that we want to pay for the repeated credit reports that we need for loans to undergo projects.  The Experian Company did not make me aware that I would be charged for my free credit report—which is ironically the title of their website.  To further antagonize the existing problem they set me up for auto renewal and auto pay without my expressed permission or even making me aware that either was implemented on my account.  Not once did I receive a bill or a notice of payment.  The only thing that tipped me off was an odd charge that was repeating on our credit card statement under the title of CIC.How is it that a business can advertise in such blatant ambiguity that borders falsehood without real ramifications from the Federal establishment?  How can a business automatically set you up for payments—auto renewals and auto payments at that—without expressed permission of the patron?Obviously I have a lot to learn about the business world.  But I do find it demoralizing to do my best to run an honest, by the book, business when there are cheats and crooks in plain site.Hard knocks are important but I do believe in maximizing efficiency.  Any advise for a young business so that I can avoid anymore irritating headaches that are wholly unnecessary?

I would definitely contact the BBB, and see what they would suggest.Â
