- "San Angelo KOA" in San Angelo, Texas - was rated: 1
This KOA provided us with our worst experience ever with a KOA campground! It's also the only time that we called KOA's national office for assistance! We made reservations 6 weeks early to stay at this particular park & also put in a request that our friends (who also RV) would be parked next to us. We were assured that we would have no problems with this request. I gave my credit card number to hold our site, as did our friends. Upon arrival, we were met by a husband & wife team who were very RUDE desk clerks. They seemed uneducated & unclean. The woman became incensed & angry when I tried to pay for our site with my debit card. She began arguing with me about why I couldn't pay with the credit card that I had held our site with. I explained to her that that shouldn't matter. (KOA - home office agreed with me). Finally, she gave us our site after she verbally berated us & treated us very nasty. We remained nice to her, but to no avail. When our friends then tried to get their site, they were placed clear across the park. When they stated that we had 6 weeks earlier reserved a site next to us, the woman's husband, loudly told us to leave the park & to leave then. The park was only 1/3 full & we had empty spots all around us & next to us where our friends could have stayed. At that point, I called the home office of KOA & was talking to them about the situation when another park worker arrived. He apologized for the situation & told us that it was fine if we parked our rigs next to each other & that if we had any other problems to bring them to his attention. We went ahead & stayed for a couple of days but we were stayed away from the hateful couple. The only redeeming feature of this park was their pool - but beware . . . while I was swimming, I noticed a couple of male park workers intensely watching me & it made me uncomfortable. There are NO other amenities! The park actually looks like a parking lot with gravel, no trees. Would we stay here again? NEVER! There are many other nice RV parks around the area. - "Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake" in Orlando, Florida - was rated: 8
A natural setting in a nice upscale Orlando location. Easy access to downtown, attractions, and major highways. We had an electric/water only site with a nice level pad. Very tight maneuvering. I did appreciate having 24hr access in a public park but the combo lock on the gate was kinda of a pain - but for the price, this is sure worth a try. Friendly, watchful, helpful staff. - "Manatee Hammock Park" in Titusville, Florida - was rated: 8
An excellent park overall - the staff is top notch. It is not a luxury park, but does not try to be. It is a great natural Florida setting without being primitive. - "Siesta RV Park" in Las Cruces, New Mexico - was rated: 8
When we called our original choice of RV parks for Las Cruces and learned they no longer had Passport American or Camp Club USA discounts and their rate was higher than we wished to pay, we contacted Siesta RV via phone to ask about the availability of a site and their rate (which was more acceptable than the first park). The owners were very pleasant and helpful, providing us with directions to the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Museum. The free Wi-Fi was a special bonus. The owners live on-site and advised that they were available even after the office closed. We would stay here again if in the area. Quiet and away from the freeway noise but convenient to restaurants and the Historic Old Mesilla (NM State Univ. is also within a couple of miles). - "Rincon Country East" in Tucson, Arizona - was rated: 10
This park is a 55+ park located on the east side of Tucson near the Pima Air Museum (off I-10). The staff were very friendly and accommodating when determining where to place our rig. We were originally assigned to a site in the back of the park (due to our Camp Club USA discount?) but when the volunteer saw that it would be a tight fit, we were directed to the front of the park where there were several open spaces (we could also take our dog out the front gate and not need a key as required in the back). Each site has a palm tree and street lights are frequently spaced. A nice stone table and benches are at each site. Mostly park models but also many trailers and motorhomes also. A gated community and very quiet. Lots of activities available; we were invited to attend the Christmas dinner. We will return to this park and their friendly citizens. - "Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Madison" in Madison, Florida - was rated: 9
This is such a beautiful campground. So very well maintained. We loved it here. Just off the interstate and so very convenient. We will be back when we have more time. - "Red Coconut RV Resort" in Fort Myers Beach, Florida - was rated: 7
We truly enjoyed this wonderful campground and city. The people were very nice and most helpful. - "Buckskin Mountain State Park" in Parker, Arizona - was rated: 10
We forgot the relaxing atmosphere of this state park 30 ml south of Lake Havasu City and the friendly park rangers. Situated on the Colorado River, all sites are level and have water & electric; only a few have sewer but a dump station is available. We learned that a few sites can be reserved up to one year in advance by calling the park. Several snowbirds who were en route to southern Arizona/ Mexico were in the park also. A 2 week say is maximum and a discount is offered in Nov/Dec to stay for 7 nights for a 5 night fee (except for pull-throughs which are full hookup sites). This is a busier place in the summer with a boat launch, cabanas, play area; the store, arcade and restaurant close for the season in December but re-open in Feb. A museum and a cactus garden are available on-site plus a hiking trail. Blue Water Casino is 10 ml away. We will be back! - "Cactus Garden" in Yuma, Arizona - was rated: 7
We were scheduled to stay at this park for 2 nights with a Passport America discount and had paid a one night's deposit. However, due to mechanical problems with our truck which had to be towed, I called to cancel the same day we were due to arrive. After the friendly staff member checked with a supervisor, she returned our call to advise that our deposit fee would be refunded when verified with a copy of the tow slip. When arriving at the park to provide the requested information we found that it was clean and well maintained. This is a 55+ park and had several park models but also many motorhomes and trailers. We would definitely consider this park when in the area again. - "Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park" in West Memphis, Arkansas - was rated: 8
This place is a little hard to find but the view of the River once you get there is worth it. You can sit on park benches and watch barges moving up and down the Mississippi all day. The newer section of the park has concrete pads and WiFi. The older sites are shady and border woods with trails. The laundry was free for guests when we last stayed here. You will have to drop your toad to go shopping but there are two grocery stores and a Wal-Mart nearby. Also, they are very dog friendly. - "Campers Inn" in Panama City Beach, Florida - was rated: 10
We stayed during the very busy summer season and were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the bathrooms. This campground is only 300 yards off the Gulf of Mexico and they have their own beach access! The staff was very friendly and the owners came by personally and thanked us for our visit. Both of our children had a wonderful time and we plan on making this a yearly tradition. - "Agricenter International RV Park" in Memphis, Tennessee - was rated: 4
We stay here when we have to. There is so much road construction around this park it is a hassle to get to. It is a field with 30 amp power, no pads and when it rains it is a mess. There are nice hiking/biking trails around the Wolf River and a small pond. There is a corn maze across from the RV Park each October which is fun. If you plan to stay more than a night or two look at Tom Sawyer Park in West Memphis. It is much nicer. - "Williston Crossings RV Resort" in Williston, Florida - was rated: 10
Very clean modern park with large, shaded, private sites. Friendl
