- CRISS ANGEL RETURNS TO SILVERTON CASINO LODGE’S 117,000-GALLON AQUARIUM TO CHEAT DEATH A SECOND TIME
Mindfreak star Criss Angel returns to Silverton Casino Lodge to attempt an extremely dangerous Houdini-styled escape while submerged underwater in the resort’s 117,000-gallon aquarium.
Sunday, Dec. 16 5 p.m.
Silverton Casino Lodge 3333 Blue Diamond Rd
Las Vegas, NV 89139 Master illusionist Criss Angel returns to Silverton Casino Lodge to cheat death a second time by performing a hazardous Houdini-styled escape. This will be Angel’s second attempt at the submerged escape.
In March 2007, Angel was forced to abandon the perilous escape when he almost failed to break free from handcuffs, metal chains and foot restraints while stuck at the bottom of Silverton Casino Lodge’s 117,000-gallon aquarium. Cheating death with only minor cuts on his back thanks to the rocks in the shark and stingray populated tank, Angel vowed he would return and successfully complete the stunt. - BERKLEY: YUCCA MOUNTAIN FIGHT GOES ON
Nevada Challenge to Electronic Document Database Rejected
(December 12, 2007 -- Washington, D.C.) Congresswoman Shelley Berkley (D-NV) today released the following statement in response to a ruling by an NRC board rejecting a challenge by the State of Nevada to certification of an electronic document database that will be used during hearings on a license for Yucca Mountain. Berkley’s statement stresses that while the challenge to DOE’s document certification was unsuccessful, the fight against the proposed radioactive waste dump continues at all levels. Berkley’s statement is as follows:
"While Nevada did not win this particular challenge, the fight to stop Yucca Mountain is far from over. Nevada families remain overwhelmingly opposed to Yucca Mountain because of the danger the dump represents. This ruling does not change that fact, nor does it address the threat to 50 million Americans from shipments of toxic radioactive waste headed to Yucca Mountain. Nevada and our allies are up against a White House that has shown a willingness to bend the rules and we cannot afford to let our guard down or to ignore any opportunity to challenge President Bush's dangerous Yucca Mountain plan. DOE’s failure to post these key documents related to Yucca Mountain could not go unchallenged, even if we did not ultimately prevail this time around. We will continue to make our voices heard and to fight for fair treatment during this process, something that should already be guaranteed under the law, but remains an issue with the Bush administration,” said Congresswoman Shelley Berkley (D-NV) - THE SCINTAS, KAT RAY PERFORM TO HELP KIDS DREAMS COME TRUE THIS CHRISTMAS At "Wish Upon A Star Show"

Also hitting the stage will be Kat Ray, a legendary jazz performer who has been a staunch leader in issues concerning children for quite sometime. "Children are the future of all of we have to offer. Sick, healthy, poor or wealthy, we have to help whenever we can, however we can, " said Ray.
