Ministry staff at EFC-Columbia are interconnected and dependent; we work together to achieve maturity as a church. This individual will aid the ministry staff in providing direction and care for the church body as a whole with an emphasis in leading a Christ-centered ministry to and with those in 6th grade through senior-high school. The Associate Pastor(Youth) will be expected to communicate a Biblical vision to the church as a whole, as well as assist the body in developing the skills and character necessary to accomplish that vision. The Associate Pastor(Youth) will be responsible for recruiting, training and overseeing adult staff who lead small groups of youth. In doing so, this individual will exhort young people to connect with their peers and their adult leaders. The Associate Pastor(Youth) will be expected to preach to the congregation at regular intervals at the discretion of the Senior Pastor. The Associate Pastor will be expected to share in developing and carry-out overall church vision, and provide pastoral care for all generations and age groups in the church body. This individual should possess a mix of at least several of the following gifts: leadership, teaching/preaching/training, discipleship, musical and/or visual creativity, discernment/wisdom. This individual must have character qualities that reflect a pastoral heart: a passion for relationships and networking, a strong desire for evangelism, a desire to see all members develop and use their gifts, and present to the world a model of biblical discipleship as an example of how to humbly live the Christian life. It is preferred that the individual possess seminary training or equivalent experience. This individual must be able to affirm the EFCA Statement of faith and demonstrate a willingness to abide by the EFC-Columbia Constitution and By-laws.     The Student Minister is the PHBF staff member who serves as the primary teacher, discipler, and pastor-like role model for high school students.
