BRAVO! As a professional, although not famous musician, I do make my living playing music; I salute you for taking such a clear stand on this issue. I currently live in Sweden, where there is a fully legit political party with the sole agenda of promoting theft from musicians. People don't realize that it isn't just the rich and famous artists who gets hurt by this, but also thousands if not millions of talented, hard working musicians all over the world. So once again; BRAVO!

And you think the Recording Ass. of America is any better? Just because they've managed to control the legislature here, and pass things like the the DMCA and threaten lots of children and grandmothers (among others) with their stupid law suits, that makes them better?

The real issue is that the recording industry is a cartel that needs to fall. I aplaud AllOfMP3 because they thumb their nose at the establishment and do a great deal to undermine the cartel that is the Recording Ass. of America.

If the RIAA was smart (and courageous) enough to sell non-DRM handicaped songs for say, 15 cents a song, they'd be selling a hell of a lot more and only an insignificant fraction of people would share over P2P to the point where it wouldn't be an issue.

Clearly what is needed is a way to get high quality music without DRM and for artist's to get paid. Music recorded at 128kbps AAC from iTunes Store doesn't cut it for me. Why is it that a physical CD cost's the same amount as an album on iTunes? Doesn't seem right to me. Inflated pricing to line the pockets of the recording indsuty? You bet.

The RIAA is upset because they're not getting a cut of the profit. As a professional musician, I find it hilarious to read articles like this...

And yet sites hosting child pornography somehow manage to process credit card transactions? If only child protection organisations were rich/powerful/wantonly litigious enough to get VISA and Mastercard's attention.

To TranceMist: I didn't mention the RIAA in my comment, not do I think they're any better. I only talked about it from a musicians point of view, and yes I agree, the RIAA and the whole recording industry does line its pockets at the musicans expense, and yes, this needs to stop. But which ever you twist and turn it, AllOfMP3 are screwing the musicans over, and downloading illegal music is theft! So fight your fight with the RIAA and the greedy recording companies, you have my support, but do in a way that doesn't hurt the musicians - that's all I ask!
