• Service Credit Union Donates $30,000 in Gift Cards to Military Families for Holidays
  PORTSMOUTH, NH. (November 1, 2008) --- Service Credit Union is donating Holiday Gift Cards, valued at $30,000, to families needing holiday assistance across the 12 Army and Air Force bases where the credit unionÂ’s 15 branches serve in Germany and at the Pease Air National Guard base in New Hampshire.

  PORTSMOUTH (November 24, 2008) The Service Credit Union Wish Trees are in full bloom at 16 branch locations in New Hampshire and, for the first time, a Wish Tree is available online. This holiday season, Service Credit Union has made charitable giving as simple as possible so members and nonmembers can choose a gift for a needy child.
• Air Force Memorial dedication - November 08, 2008
  PORTSMOUTH (November 12, 2008) – Service Credit Union representatives were on hand to watch the unveiling of the United States Air Force memorial Tuesday in Boscawen. Service Credit Union acknowledges the significance of this monument, which recognizes the brave men and women of New Hampshire who have sacrificed for our freedom.
• Service Credit Union kicked off its annual food drive on November 3, 2008
  Service Credit Union kicked off its annual food drive November 1 and it runs through November 15. Members and nonmembers can drop off their canned goods at any New Hampshire and Massachusetts branch. For every 10 items contributed, Service Credit Union will donate a turkey to the branchesÂ’ local charity, which are in critical need this year and will be the benefactors of the food donated.
• Share insurance increases to $250,000
  Members can rest easy knowing their savings are federally insured to $250,000 and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government through the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).

• Service Credit Union donates $25,000 to fuel assistance programs
  PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (July 23, 2008) Knowing the high price of fuel and dim outlook from any relief, Service Credit Union will help those less fortunate with their energy costs this coming winter. As part of its Energy Saving initiative, Service Credit Union donated $25,000 Wednesday to the New Hampshire Fuel Assistance Community Action Agencies. The donation will be spread across the six state agencies and divided into amounts based on Service Credit Union membership distribution in that area. Service Credit Union presented the check to New Hampshire Governor John Lynch, who represented the six community agencies, at the statehouse.
• Service Credit Union donates $1,000 to Knitting for Charity
  PORTSMOUTH, NH (July 16, 2008) Service Credit Union recently presented a group of Rochester Knitters with a $1,000 check and a large basket of yarn for their Knitting for Charity Program. The donation was given in memory of Rodney G. Brock, past President/CEO of Service Credit Union. Brock was an instrumental part of the credit union for 31 years including his appointment as President/CEO in 1980. Under his leadership, the credit union grew from $40 million to $290 million in assets. Brock's sister, Betty Brock McGuire is one of the knitters for the program.
• Somersworth Youth Safe Haven Receives $12,000 from Service Credit Union to Save Summer Program
  PORTSMOUTH (June 4, 2008) --- The Somersworth Youth Safe Haven Summer Program will become a reality thanks to a generous donation of $12,000 from Service Credit Union. Service Credit Union's donation saved Somersworth Youth Safe Haven Annual Summer Program from closing its doors, which previously was having trouble finding funding until the credit union stepped in. With this contribution, the summer program can rest assured that it can help children this summer. It (Service Credit Union's donation) comes at the right time, Somersworth Mayor Michael Micucci said. I am glad to see they are getting their funding.
• Salmon Falls Community Credit Union Joins the Service Credit Union Family
  PORTSMOUTH (June 3, 2008) --- Salmon Falls Community Credit Union membership overwhelmingly voted in favor of merging into Service Credit Union at a May special meeting. The merger also met final regulatory approval from the New Hampshire Banking Department and National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). Salmon Falls Community Credit Union of Somersworth announced its intent to pursue a merger with Service Credit Union earlier this year after the Salmon Falls Board of Directors evaluated several merger partners and collectively endorsed Service Credit Union as the most fitting credit union to serve existing Salmon Falls Community Credit Union members.
• Service Credit Union becomes largest contributor to Air Force Memorial
  PORTSMOUTH (June 3, 2008) --- Service Credit Union upped its support to New Hampshire chapters of the Air Force Sergeants Association (AFSA) and the Air Force Association (AFA) with a $10,000 donation, making the credit union the largest contributor to United States Air Force memorial with a total contribution of $30,000. It is extremely important to recognize all of the brave New Hampshire men and women who have fought for our freedoms with dignity and courage, and who have sacrificed for us. Service Credit Union and its members have has a long history of supporting our brave men and women who serve in the military and this contribution continues that tradition, says Governor John Lynch.

  PORTSMOUTH (May 29, 2008) --- The Salem branch of Service Credit Union celebrated its move from its former location at 159 North Broadway directly across the street to its new home at 158 North Broadway at a ribbon cutting ceremony recently. Service Credit Union President/CEO Gordon Simmons gave the opening remarks, citing Salem's humble beginnings in the community as Spicket Valley Credit Federal Credit Union and growing to a full-service branch at Service Credit Union.
