PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (July 23, 2008) Knowing the high price of fuel and dim outlook from any relief, Service Credit Union will help those less fortunate with their energy costs this coming winter. As part of its Energy Saving initiative, Service Credit Union donated $25,000 Wednesday to the New Hampshire Fuel Assistance Community Action Agencies. The donation will be spread across the six state agencies and divided into amounts based on Service Credit Union membership distribution in that area. PORTSMOUTH, NH (July 16, 2008) Service Credit Union recently presented a group of Rochester Knitters with a $1,000 check and a large basket of yarn for their Knitting for Charity Program. The donation was given in memory of Rodney G. Brock, past President/CEO of Service Credit Union. Brock was an instrumental part of the credit union for 31 years including his appointment as President/CEO in 1980. Under his leadership, the credit union grew from $40 million to $290 million in assets. Brock's sister, Betty Brock McGuire is one of the knitters for the program. - Somersworth Youth Safe Haven Receives $12,000 from Service Credit Union to Save Summer Program
PORTSMOUTH (June 4, 2008) --- The Somersworth Youth Safe Haven Summer Program will become a reality thanks to a generous donation of $12,000 from Service Credit Union. Service Credit Union's donation saved Somersworth Youth Safe Haven Annual Summer Program from closing its doors, which previously was having trouble finding funding until the credit union stepped in. With this contribution, the summer program can rest assured that it can help children this summer. PORTSMOUTH (June 3, 2008) --- Salmon Falls Community Credit Union membership overwhelmingly voted in favor of merging into Service Credit Union at a May special meeting. The merger also met final regulatory approval from the New Hampshire Banking Department and National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). Salmon Falls Community Credit Union of Somersworth announced its intent to pursue a merger with Service Credit Union earlier this year after the Salmon Falls Board of Directors evaluated several merger partners and collectively endorsed Service Credit Union as the most fitting credit union to serve existing Salmon Falls Community Credit Union members. - Service Credit Union becomes largest contributor to Air Force Memorial
