    TOKYO - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. today announced that, Shoe Carnival,Inc., the top U.S. retailer of family footwear, has selected MOL Consolidation Service Ltd. to provide freight consolidation services in China and Hong Kong. MOL Consolidation Service started the service for Shoe Carnival products manufactured in China and Hong Kong in the 3rd quarter this year.
  • 10 December, MOL Launches World’s Largest Iron Ore Carrier Third-Generation Brasil Maru Joins Fleet
    TOKYO - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. today announced the launch of one of the world’s largest iron ore carrier, the Brasil Maru (327,180 MT DWT). Naming and delivery ceremonies were held at the Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. Chiba Works on December 7, 2007. It will transport Brazilian iron ore to Japan under a long-term contract with Nippon Steel Corporation.

Lines, Ltd. and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. today announced that the Asia-Mexico/West Coast South America container service called “CWL” will improve port coverage by adding direct calls at Qingdao, whose hinterland in Shandong province is regarded to have the highest potentiality of growth in North China in terms of export cargo production, import cargo processing and local consumption. This weekly direct calling at Qingdao is an unique service in this trade.

(HMM) - Hanjin Shipping Co., Ltd and United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) today announced a new Asia-East Mediterranean / Black Sea service, named "EBX"(East-Mediterranean / Black Sea Express).

    MOL has once again been selected for inclusion in the major social responsibility investment (SRI) indices - the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) and FTSE4Good Global Index. U.S.-based Dow Jones named companies for the DJSI World Index on September 6. The FTSE Group, a joint company of Financial Times and London Stock Exchange, announced its selections for FTSE4Good Global Index on September 13. Companies chosen for these indices meet international criteria for social responsibility in areas such as corporate governance, environmental protection, and relationships with stakeholders, and are expected to be leaders in sustainable growth. Selected companies become target investments for SRI funds.
