It will be interesting to see if that theory comes true of the lone woman winning the "macho" football pool.

Go Bears. Pennington's been injured, but he's unfairly maligned, I think. He may not be heralded as Joe Montana Jr. anymore, but he's consistenly been one of the best in passer rating over the last few years with mediocre talent for receivers. I didn't look at his stats from last year, but I'd assume his passer rating was still at least respectable. That is all.

Hahaha! My Bears have their revenge on all you nay-sayers! WoohoO! And Matt Cary and RJ go down. I feel my revenge complete. Over and out!

    Make that three...

I've seen so many TDs called back because of penalties today. Two alone in this Raiders game.

Depending on what Dallas does tomorrow, I might tell you. I've already got my next two weeks ready to go.

Are there are any huge mismatches for Week Three that don't involve Philly or New England?
  • Comment by Bennett
Heh! I suspect you are right about that. Stupid penalties, one after another, and dropped passes. Then more penalties. Sucked, truly.

The Pats' offensive line was too busy protecting Tom Brady from credit card fraud.
  • Comment by Bennett
Just as well I was out in week one. I would have probably gone with New England... Wow, talk about a team beating itself! I started to wonder if the OL had some long odds and dreams of a big payoff. If so, dreams came true.

Yeah, how about I pick the Bengals to go 16-0? ;-P
  • Comment by El Bicho
RJ, give me some karma and pick Washington to win.
  • Comment by Mark Sahm
I only hate Favre for throwing 2 picks, RJ. GB should have won that one. Oh well. This is why I don't bet on football anymore! :)

Berlin is still in... Matt C. is gone... Chelsea L. is still in... El Bicho is in limbo until Monday night... Chunk is still in... No idea about Zach, Tito, or Joel...

In 2003 they were 6-10. And Pennington missed his first 7 starts. The team went 2-5 in those games. Granted, a 4-5 record with him in the game isn't much better, but yes he was indeed hurt all year. Pennington did look real bad in the opener, but I'm a big fan of his (just like any MAC quarterback) and that team will win under Pennington and Herm Edwards.

Was watching Inside the NFL last night (which I hadn't seen in many years) and the group was absolutely pounding on Pennington. Last I heard he was on top of the world and the greatest thing since sliced bread. What up?

In 2003 the were 6-10. Both the Bills and Miami have gotten better. They have a very tough schedule without easy teams like Cleav, AZ and SF in the mix this year. I don't see one win in their last 9 games except maybe Denver. Plus, who's going to QB? Pennington looks to still be suffering from surgery. Barring a major injury in the rest of the division, they will finish last in AFC East. They that to the bank!

Herman Edwards-coached teams don't go 3-13. If there's one thing about Herm's teams, they may start bad but they finish strong. In 2002 they started 2-5 and finished 7-2 to end up at 9-7 and they made the playoffs. Now that's resilience. But yes, the Dolphins could be a surprise too.
